The Frye Festival offers literary activities for children from preschool to grade 12 all across New Brunswick. Our programs are offered free of charge.

> Preschool Storytime Events

Preschools & Libraries

Authors of illustrated books come to tell their stories, to the delight of children and educators! Schedules are flexible and group sizes may vary.

> Imagination at Work

Kindergarten to grade 5

Students write a story or poem, or illustrate a short text.

The whole family is invited to an exhibit to admire the creations during the Frye Festival (April 21 to 30, 2023). Many prizes are distributed to the participants!

> Photonovel

Grade 6 to 8

Students (in groups or individually) create their own photo novel. Encourage your students' creativity and they will be proud to share their work with their family and friends!

> Provincial Creative Writing Contest

Grade 9 to 12

This contest rewards the best works in two categories, poetry and short story, in both English and French.

A professional jury selects three finalists in each category and in each language.

 

> Frye Academy

Grade 9 to 12

A bilingual book and debating club for students in grade 9 to 12! The books are offered for free to all jury members, who must in turn read them and participate in the debates as well as the meet the author.

> Writers in the Schools

Kindergarten to grade 12

Authors to bring books to life in classrooms as students discover the power of words, and get to meet Canada's best writers! Schedules are flexible, and group sizes are variable.
